Reporting to the lead teacher, you will utilize your core skills in classroom management and early childhood education to support daily activities and promote developmental growth. Job description • Experience/Education • At least 18 years of age (25 if van driving responsibility) • Holds a high school diploma or equivalent • Experience in specified age group and similar center • Knowledge and understanding of all current State and Local regulations (i.e. Minimum Standards) • Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; preparing payroll; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems; reviewing and approving supply requisitions; assigning and monitoring clerical functions. • Provides historical reference by defining procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records. • Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement. • Designs and implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments. • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. • Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends. • Maintains office staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. • Maintains office staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Relieve for breaks • Assist the Director * II. Physical Demands • Will frequently lift as in lifting, carrying, walking with, and holding infants and children. • Required to stand up to 90% of the day. • Must be able to stoop, bend and sit on a child’s level. • Able to physically and mentally interact and react to children on the playground and/or in the classroom, and attend to their needs. III. Classroom Environment: • Provide a positive and nurturing environment for the children. • Responsible for health and safety of the children – not excessive accidents • Consistently keep clean and maintain the Childrens areas (including bathrooms) • Maintains and effective room arrangement- permanent, no running spaces, shelves used as dividers, Material at child level (approved by Management) • Maintain Learning wall, Parent board and Teacher board • Children's art (and Curriculum worksheets) displayed • Equipment out and children taught to use it properly H. Follows class schedule • Provides consistent and constant supervision of all children. Children never left alone. Know how many children that you are responsible for at all times and who they are. J. Shelves have toys and manipulatives attractively displayed and labeled • Classroom materials enriched with teacher made items. IV. Planning • Lesson plans completed on time, consistently, posted, supply list turned in • Lesson plans reflectcurrentcurriculum and Character Value • Consistent planning and effective use of transitions including hallway transitions • Circle time, story time and music planned and carried through • An organized and structured daily schedule is implemented daily. V.
