Child Neurologist specializing in Neuromuscular Medicine

The Division of Child Neurology at Children’s National Hospital is seeking a child neurologist at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to join our Program in Neuromuscular Medicine. The divisions of Child Neurology, Epilepsy, and Neurophysiology include over 40 child neurologists across all subspecialty areas including neuromuscular medicine, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, neurogenetics, movement disorders, neuroimmunology, neonatal neurology, critical care neurology, stroke, headache, and concussion. Our mission is to achieve excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Clinical responsibilities include the care of patients with neuromuscular disorders in outpatient clinics, with potential inpatient ward or consult service time. The neuromuscular program runs a weekly multi-disciplinary muscular dystrophy clinic which includes neuromuscular neurologists, physical medicine, physical therapy, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, bone health, and nutrition. The program leads multiple clinical trials and the opportunity to collaborate with Children’s National Research Institute investigators in muscular dystrophies research and nearby NIH on basic and translational science in neuromuscular disorders. The program offers inpatient and outpatient electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCV). Teaching responsibilities involve the instruction and supervision of child neurology trainees, pediatric house officers, and medical students. Academic opportunities include participation in research, quality improvement, and program innovation in clinical care. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology (ABPN) and additional training/certification in Neuromuscular Disorders or Clinical Neurophysiology (EMG-Track).
