Church Relationship Specialist I for Central Region

The expected salary range for this position is $58,870.00 - $73,580.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. As a Relationship Specialist, you will engage church partners through an external facing, fundraising position. You will maximize the continued growth of the Church Partnerships portfolio by providing excellent service, proactively identifying relevant partnership opportunities, and re-activating lapsed or dormant partnerships. You will improve the effectiveness of the Church Partnerships team by intentionally serving existing partners, thus increasing the team’s capacity to pursue new church partnerships. Sales and fundraising are central to your role, and you will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote, US-based position. Only individuals living in a major metropolitan city in NM, TX, LA, MS, AR, OK, KS, MO, or NE will be considered.

What will you do?

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

• Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

• Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

• Perform church engagement activities to achieve team strategy in collaboration with marketing team members.

• Interact with church pastors and other decision-makers to foster effective relationships and growth in increased acquisitions and giving potential.

• Foster, nurture, and strengthen active, dormant, and/or lapsed church relationships to meet revenue and production goals.

• Organize and help execute Church Group and Vision trips for the purpose of nurturing and cultivating church partnerships.

• Report to churches through stewardship reports and maintain strong communication related to projects and a personalized affirmation program for prior gifts and involvement.

• Operate within the approved budget, maintaining an accurate database, documenting activities and opportunities and following existing process and business rules and requirements. Provide required reports summarizing achievement of assigned objectives in accordance with approved processes.
