Job Title:Linehaul Driver Department:Linehaul Reports To:Linehaul Operations Manager FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Compensation:0.80 ¢ per mile(mileage split between team) Location:Hayward, CA SUMMARY:Daylight Transport is hiring company Team Drivers for Over the Road lanes. Other duties may be assigned. Key requirements • CDL-A teams for long-haul/cross country freight. • Drive upwards of 5,000 miles per week. • 100% no-touch freight • Must be at least 23 years of age. • Must possess a valid CDL-A license. • Successfully passed a DOT pre-employment physical and drug test. • No pending-conviction or conviction for DUI or DWI. • Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based in hiring standards: in the last three (3) years no more than a combination of three of the following: o Moving violations o At-fault accidents Key Responsibilities Ensure timely and safe delivery while adhering to all traffic, safety, and DOT regulations. • Perform routine pre/post trip inspections and report issues immediately. • Utilize global positioning systems (GPS) and other equipment to navigate routes efficiently. • Communicate efficiently and effectively with dispatch. Benefits Specific to the Job Safety Incentives. Layover Pay. Added stop pay. Co-driver referral bonus. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school Diploma/GED required. Must have two (2) years current, verifiable OTR Tractor-Trailer driving experience. CDL-A required. Hazmat Endorsement preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to speak, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals pursuant to Title 49CFR §391.11. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to listen, follow up, pay attention to detail, and accomplish desired results verbally and/or in written form to appropriately document issues. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as receipts, miles, and have an understanding of basic mathematics. REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
