Job Overview J. Moraga Construction is seeking reliable and skilled Drivers and General Laborers with a CDL Class A and Non-CDL Class C to join our team. Driver w/ Class A Responsibilities and Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of trucks, including dump trucks, flatbeds, and equipment-trailers. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Responsibilities include ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining the vehicle in good condition, andassist with general labor tasks as needed on construction job sites. • Operate different types of trucks, including dump trucks, flatbeds, roll-off trucks, semi, and equipment-trailers. • Safely load and unload freight according to company procedures. • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries. • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance. • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations while driving. • Provide general construction labor assistance to crew once delivery is made. • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required. • Experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of route driving and freight handling. • Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred. • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols on the road. Work Location: In person Job Type: Full-time Pay: Starting $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Safety equipment provided Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday • Nights as needed • Weekends as needed License/Certification: • Driver's License (Required) Ability to Commute: • San Jose, CA 95119 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • San Jose, CA 95119: Relocate before starting work (Preferred) General Labor w/ Non-Class C Responsibilities and Requirements: • Assist with the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris and setting up equipment • Perform physical labor tasks including digging, lifting, and carrying materials as needed. • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision. • Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced workers to complete assigned tasks. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on site. • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards. • Clean and maintain trucks, tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment • Proven experience as a Construction Laborer or similar role is preferred • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team • Exceptional self-management, organization, and communication skills • Must be able yo lift 50 pounds to waist level, raise 20 pounds over head, and climb 10 stairs without restrictions • Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not required; we welcome entry-level candidates who are eager to learn. • Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment is a plus. • Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately. • A commitment to safety practices on the job site is essential.
