Job Description

Education / Licensing Requirements: Bachelors’ in Pharmacy or PharmD, valid Texas Pharmacy License required. Experience Requirements: 3-5 years pharmacist experience. Position Overview: Provides customer service to patients and healthcare professionals. Provides leadership and clinical guidance to pharmacy technicians and other support staff. Positions reporting to this position: Direct reports: None Essential Skills/Experience Strong communication skills Organizational skills Proven time management skills Team player Excellent attention to detail Extensive pharmacology knowledge Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task Characteristics Sense of urgency Organized, detail oriented; catches errors early Ethical; respects confidentiality Responsibilities: § Oversees and directs pharmacy technicians and technician trainee’s workflow and verifies order entries. § Completes initial patient consults advising patients of their medication and responds to all patient inquires. § Recognizes health issues that may interact with the patient's medication therapy. § Responds to patients concerns regarding their medication or therapy. § Contacts physicians to clarify prescriptions. § Accepts verbal prescriptions from physicians' offices. § Knowledgeable regarding Senderra’s community values and demonstrates them daily. § Participates in staff meetings, conference calls, and other meetings, as needed. § Performs other incidental and related duties as required. Working Conditions: § Fast-paced environment. § Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant. § Requires normal hearing levels (corrected). § Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time. Requires sitting, bending. § Requires normal finger dexterity for keyboarding. § Works effectively with frequent interruptions. § Lifting requirements of 15 pounds occasionally. § Minimal travel <10%. Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Senior Clinical Pharmacist-Director Pharmacy Operations.
