The PositionThe Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Aging and Family Services Division. The mission of the Aging and Family Services Division is to foster a high quality of life for older adults through its Senior Support Services. The Senior Support Services employs a team of caring professionals from diverse backgrounds which include social workers, a public health nurse, counselors, and peers who will work closely with other department staff to provide cohesive wrap-around services for older adults and their families.Application ProcessThe first review of applications is 12:00 p.m., May 23, 2025. Please advise Human Resources of any special needs a minimum of 5 days in advance of the selection process by calling (510) 494-4660 or [email protected] For additional information, please contact Human Resources Department at:[email protected] contained herein is subject to change and does not constitute either an expressed or implied contract. ______________________________________________________________________Clinical Supervisor Class Specifications EXAMPLE OF DUTIES All Assignments:• Works in close collaboration with peer Clinical Supervisor(s) to develop and implement consistent standards and practices in clinical operations across mental health/social work teams. • Ensures that staff remains current in the professional, legal and ethical standards of the profession. • Supervises the clinical work of professional and paraprofessional staff and interns engaged in the identification and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems or resource coordination and casework. • Reviews existing operations and recommends and implements new/changed policies and procedures in response to changing client and organizational needs. • Participates in the development of department goals and objectives. • Screens client applicants and recommends appropriate assignments to staff. • Reviews staff performance and recommends appropriate action. • Contacts institutions, hospitals and private practitioners for purposes of client placement, treatment or service coordination. • Plans, organizes and implements the intern program in collaboration with peer Clinical Supervisor(s). • Develops, implements and oversees a training program for both clinical and paraprofessional staff. • Orients staff to division and department operations. • Designs and implements customer satisfaction feedback systems, reports and recommends change strategies based on customer need.Counseling Assignments: • Conducts staff conference for peer review of cases. • Supervises casework for families and individuals. • Conducts non-crisis psychotherapy as required.Social Work Assignments: • Conducts staff conference for peer review of cases. • Supervises casework for families and individuals. • Assumes responsibility for cases with special circumstances.Marginal Functions• Other duties as assigned.
