Cloud Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities

• An IBM Cloud DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for designing developing and managing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions for businesses. They possess expert-level knowledge of various cloud platforms including IBM Cloud AWS Azure and Google Cloud. Key responsibilities include migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud optimizing application performance ensuring data privacy and security automating infrastructure deployment and guiding stakeholders in adopting cloud practices. Additionally IBM Cloud Engineers collaborate closely with architects developers and DevOps professionals to ensure seamless integration between cloud environments and on-premise systems. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is typically required along with certifications from major cloud providers.
• DevSecOps integrates application and infrastructure security seamlessly into Agile and DevOps processes and tools. It addresses security issues as they emerge when they’re easier faster and less expensive to fix and before deployment into production.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably IBM Cloud)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies ( Docker Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of serverless architectures and orchestration
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python Bash)
• Version control system experience (Git)
• Understanding of security best practices and encryption methods
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with application security. They should understand the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) top 10 application security testing and other security engineering practices.
• Experience with threat models compliance checks and have a working knowledge of how to measure risks exposure and implement security controls

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with automation tools (Ansible Terraform)
• DevOps methodologies and Agile workflows
• Data science and machine learning concepts
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches
• Container security and vulnerability scanning
• Networking and load balancing protocols
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell Perl or Java
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus Grafana ELK Stack)
• Cloud certifications (IBM Certified Cloud Developer IBM Certified Solution Architect etc.)
