Please note-this is a hybrid role working from our Vancouver, BC office. This person is expected to be on site 2-3 days per week.

A day in the life…

• Be a key contributor to our agile team.

• Engineering a single complex component or service.

• Contributing to triage and monitoring of services. Understanding of systems and service automation or system design.

• Supporting data ingestion processes using Scribe, Talend, SSIS and custom ingestion tools.

• Developing a new AWS-based data ingestion pipeline.

• Processing complex healthcare and engagement data sets while transforming them to a standard form.

• Interfacing with various teams consuming the data after ingestion for both new and legacy software solutions.

• Designing rudimentary systems through a combination of team created and vendor provided services.

• Understanding how to formulate the basics of a business case as it applies to services and system design.

• Adhering to security and compliance processes as outlined by the team and organization.

• Frequently identifying and communicating risks/opportunities to security/compliance.

What we are looking for…

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/Engineering, related field, or Engineering specific certifications or equivalent degree experience

• 3-4 years specific engineering field experience (network, systems/storage, database)

• Experience with Data Ingestion, Data Integration, and experience supporting data systems

• Experience with Python and Unix shell scripting for data and database interactions

• Experience with high volume data ingestion, preferably cloud-based

• Experience with RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
