CNC Journeyman Machinist - Program/Setup/Run

POSITION OVERVIEW Washington Machine Works is looking for a broadly experienced CNC machinist who wants to program and machine interesting, complex, high-quality parts in one-offs and small lots. The person wants to take ownership of his or her parts. The person likes to work independently and with other team members using high-level skills and experience to make quality parts on-time. JOB TASKS • Run CNC lathes and mills of various types as a major focus • Be flexible enough to run manual lathes and mills • Read complex blueprints, interpret GD&T, determine and perform machining math • Program with Mastercam • Determine tooling, fixturing and speeds and feeds • Other tasks and duties as required KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Journeyman/Journeywoman level machinist by experience • Experience with a variety of conventional and CNC lathes and mills essential • CNC programming experience (with Mastercam and plus) • Assembly and general millwright experience a plus • Strong work ethic • Works well independently on jobs but also works well in a team ABOUT US Washington Machine Works is an independent Seattle machine job shop specializing in small volumes, large parts and hard-to-work materials. We provide machining and light fabrication services. We can make one-off jigs and fixtures as well as short production runs of parts. Located in the Seattle Georgetown neighborhood, WMW has been machining parts since 1985 for diverse customers in the marine, aerospace, pulp and paper and specialty metals industries. WMW also does repair and refurbishing work for many area industrial facilities. The shop has a 10-ton crane, a 13-foot swing vertical lathe, a large horizontal boring mill, two big CNC machining centers and a large CNC lathe.
