Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, and precision measurement.
Responsibilities:
• Set up CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) by loading programs, adjusting machine settings, and installing appropriate tools.
• Operate CNC machines to perform various machining operations, including drilling, milling, turning, and boring.
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code to ensure accurate production.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine alarms and issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Document production activities, including completed parts, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
• Proficient in setting up and operating various CNC machines (e.g., Haas, Fanuc, Mazak controls).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
• Excellent understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with CAM software.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with specific materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics, exotic alloys).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
