Overview:
Athena Manufacturingis seeking a highly skilledLathe Expertwith experience operatinglive tooling lathes, particularlyOkumamachines. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can bring their expertise to our team, help us advance our operations, and contribute to our growth in precision machining.
Key Responsibilities:(include but not limited to):Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
β’ Set up, operate, and program live tooling lathes with a focus on Okuma equipment.
β’ Produce precision parts by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
β’ Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on live tooling lathes to ensure optimal performance.
β’ Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
β’ Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
β’ Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
β’ Assist in training and mentoring team members on the operation of live tooling lathes.
β’ Coordinate with Department supervisor to ensure work scopes are accurately defined.
β’ Complete documentation of work or inspection operations.
β’ Other duties may be assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
β’ Extensive experience with live tooling lathes, with a strong preference for experience with Okuma machines.
β’ Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
β’ Knowledge of CNC programming and tool setup.
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
β’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
β’ High School Diploma or GED preferred.
β’ 8 years of experience in a high-volume machine shop.
β’ Okuma and Live Tooling Lathes experience a Must!

β’ Multilimbed Coordination- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.
β’ Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range.
β’ Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
β’ Reaction Time- The ability to quickly respond.
β’ Rate Control- The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
β’ Trunk Strength- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
β’ Ability to continuously lift 50+ lbs. in an 8-hour shift and higher with assistance.
β’ Written Comprehension β The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
