The role of the CNC Programmer is to create and improve basic to complex programs for 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC mills and lathes. The Programmer uses CAM software to generate program code per CAD model and/or blueprints. They are also responsible for revising programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.

The perfect fit

Are we aligned? We might be if this is you:

• Associate's degree or education in computer science, computer programming or general programmer.
• Two years programming CNC mill or lathe
• Working knowledge of ANSI-Y-14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and sketches and follow verbal directions
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers
• Working knowledge of traveler (router, bill of materials, etc.)
• A comprehensive understanding of feeds and speeds used with common cutting tools, for aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel alloys.
• Capable of visualizing complex three dimensional parts and determining the order in which features should be machined
• Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Understand and obey safety requirements
• Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
