Athena Manufacturingis seeking an innovative, self-driven team player who has a strong background as a Machine Programmer in a Metalworking Manufacturing Environment. CNC Machine Programmersare responsible for reading and interpreting customer drawings to create tool paths, and/or develop instructions in the form of code utilizing software to instruct machinery to create parts and components effectively and precisely. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following: • Utilize - Solidworks and CAM - Hypermill/Esprit software to create toolpaths to program 3,4,& 5x Machining Centers as well as Dual-Spindle Turning Centers. • Assist CNC Operators with program troubleshooting and feed/speed optimization. • Design necessary jigs and fixtures to support production requirements. • Coordinate jig and fixture fabrication with machine shop. • Assist with manufacture of machined parts, as required. • Maintain documentation per Quality and Product Realization requirements. • Interface with Manufacturing Specialist and Customer Engineering as required to resolve technical issues. • Create Setup Documents for each job programmed that includes the necessary information for effective set-up and production. • Support estimating department in bidding new projects. • Participate, as required, in new product design and development efforts. • Perform other duties as necessary. • Always deliberately and continuously optimize manufacturing planning for best financial and quality performance. • Be a leader in continuous improvement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following: • An associate degree, or at least 60 college hours *equivalent to two years in a related field,a minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment, and • a minimum of 2 years' experience of computer aided design with manufacturing modeling software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following: • Strength — (Light):Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. • Movement- climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, twisting, bending • Auditory- talking and hearing • Vision-near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision, field of vision • Environment conditions and physical surroundings-noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions PREFERRED TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY: • Personal Computers • Microsoft Office • Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) Software-M2M and Shop Floor Manager • CAD- Solidworks & Catia • Mastercam- 3 & 4ax Mills • Hypermill- 5ax Mills • Esprit- Dual Spindle & Twin Turret Lathes Machines (Controls) Utilized at Athena: • Grob 5ax-Siemens • DMG Mori 5ax-Siemens • Okuma Turning Centers-OSP • Makino- Pro5,6 Fanuc • Brother- C00 • Mazak- Mazatrol 510 REQUIRED WORK CLOTHING AND PPE:Business Casual, Closed Toe shoes and required PPE throughout production.
