Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setup Machinist to join our team. As a Setup Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating primarly CNC Mills and Lathes, ensuring the accurate and efficient production of parts according to specifications. Responsibilities: *Machine Setup: Set up and configure machining equipment, including mill turn lathes, Multi Axis mills, and more, ensuring proper alignment, tooling, and fixturing for each job. *Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances. *Tool Selection: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, drills, and fixtures based on job requirements and material properties. *Machine Programming Editing: Program and input machining instructions into computerized numerical control (CNC) machines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the machining process. *Material Preparation: Prepare and load raw materials, such as metal bars or sheets, into the machine, ensuring proper alignment and securing. *Machining Operations: Operate machining equipment, monitor the machining process, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. *Quality Control: Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. *Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with machining equipment, making minor repairs or adjustments as needed. *Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production and inspection data, including job setups, tooling specifications, and quality control results. *Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment. *Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a sense of urgency to meet production KPI's and deadlines reliability. *Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements: *High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining is preferred. *Proven experience as a Setup Machinist or similar role. *Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. *Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and equipment operation. *Experience with CNC machines and programming is highly desirable. *Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. *Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. *Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. *Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. *Excellent time management and organizational abilities. *Knowledge of workplace safety practices and adherence to safety guidelines.
