In this role you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers) where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a Software Developer you'll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle such as design code implementation testing and support. You will create software that enables your clients' hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.
Your primary responsibilities include:
* Responsible for designing developing maintaining and optimizing applications running on IBM z/OS systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that support critical business operations.
* Develop test and maintain applications on IBM z/OS using COBOL JCL DB2 and other mainframe technologies.
* Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
* Perform code reviews debugging and performance tuning of z/OS applications
* Collaborate with system analysts QA testers and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and support
* Maintain documentation for programs processes and procedures
* Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis for production issues
* Ensure compliance with security audit and regulatory standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- 2+ years of experience in z/OS application development (COBOL JCL DB2 VSAM CICS)
- Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and batch/online processing
- Familiarity with version control tools and change management processes
- Ability to write efficient maintainable and well-documented code
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Amenable to work on a client dictated shift (day mid night).
- Open to work on any of IBM locations (Quezon City or Cebu).
- Experience with REXX IMS or Assembler is a plus
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and techniques
- Familiarity with integration between mainframe and distributed systems
- JLPT N1-N3 Certification
