Cold Header Operator

Quick Tie Products, Inc. (QuickTie) is a construction and manufacturing organization headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. We are searching for a skilled and experienced candidate to operate our cold heading machine and thread rolling machine (including set-up, tooling, maintenance, troubleshooting, and production). Schedule:10-hour shift beginning at 6:00 am- 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday, Fridays overtime as neccessary. Primary Responsibilities: • Setup and operate progressive type cold headers. • Change tooling for job setup, replace broken tooling and adjust, as necessary. • Retrieve tooling from the Tool & Die Department and return broken tooling for repair. • Manually straighten steel coil, and grind end prior to loading into machine. • Adjust machine settings as required. • Read & interpret shop order to produce parts to blueprint specifications. • Use appropriate gauges to check products and ensure that parts meet quality specifications. • Enter accurate production information on the daily check sheets as required. • Perform daily maintenance on machines. • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace. Follow all health and safety regulations. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Proven experience with progressive type cold headers. Experience with Jern Yao preferred. • Prior Forklift experience. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Prior experience using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges. • Mechanical aptitude. • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot. • Organized, energetic, very detail oriented, ability to manage data, and strong math skills. • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed. Working Environment/Physical Components: • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. • Must be able to lift and carry up to sixty (60) pounds without difficulty. • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and assemble small parts with hands. • Work in a semi-climate control warehouse. Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour, depending upon experience. A preemployment drug screen and background check is required.
