Job Description

The Colleague Administrator is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Colleague administrative server and ERP infrastructure. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and works collaboratively across the IT department to consistently deliver exceptional services to our client.

 

The Colleague Administrator will ensure Colleague databases are available to end users, secure, monitored, backed up, and recoverable; perform and monitor clones of the Production database on an automated or on an as needed basis; maintain Colleague software: keep up to date with regulatory requirements, defect resolutions and enhancements and support the software solutions, which includes but is not limited to the ERP solution, workflow, the imaging solution, integrations solution, and others.

 

This position will help drive transformation across a variety of ERP applications, databases, and platforms. The duties will adjust to match the technology portfolio and project workload.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collaborating with appropriate CampusWorks and client stakeholders to maintain client plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-10 years of experience working with Ellucian Colleague. Experience with other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux Operating System, as required to install and maintain databases in that environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Windows Operating System, Java and Tomcat, as required to install, maintain, update and deploy Colleague applications.
  • Ability to open Ellucian Cases and navigate support and escalation processes, as needed, to gain insight or resolve issues.
  • Ability to create and follow detailed project plans, and to guide others involved with projects driven by the DBA.
  • Ability to create clear, concise documentation of the database systems and their administrative functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Prior experience in coordinating meetings and facilitating group discussions is a plus.
