POSITION SUMMARY:

The Color Assistant (Resolve/Baselight) supports feature colorists and new technology, while ensuring quality control. They will help support, color and display systems that enable colorists to perform efficiently and productively during sessions, help support new processes and maintain proficiency with evolving technical applications and trends with the company workflow and maintain outstanding levels of oversight of deliverables manufactured within the feature finishing process.

MAIN DUTIES:

As a Color Assistant (Resolve/Baselight), you will act as resource support, color support, quality assurance, and provide exceptional customer service:

• Resource Support: Operating DaVinci Resolve v18, Baselight or similar application, Barco 4K/2KP, Kinoton film projectors, DVS Clipster, Avid, Final Cut Pro, HDSR video machines and video routers.
• Color Support: Knowledgeable of the various flavors of color spaces (P3DCI, P3D65, XYZ …), LUT applications and skills for color tracing, match grading and rendering.
• Quality Assurance: Detailed oriented with application and equipment settings. Thoroughly check all work for errors before content is distributed downstream.
• Customer Service: Drive client supervised sessions; screenings, visual effects reviews and color-correction sessions as directed by colorist and/or production management.
• Teamwork: Work as part of a collaborative team. Document workflows and help train incoming new hires.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience with media/post-production industry, as well as hands-on operator experience. They will bring experience with DaVinci Resolve v18 and/or Baselight, as well as be able to collaborate and communicate with fellow colleagues to obtain job instructions and solutions in order to meet project deadlines. Additional desired skills include:

• Other system knowledge is a plus: DVS Clipster, Adobe Premiere, OSD/Transkoder, and Avid 
• Digital cinema projectors and film projectors 
• Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Word 
• Ability to work also work at Hollywood/Company 3 offsite location, as necessary.
