Commercial Apprentice Electrician

We are currently seeking a Commercial Apprentice Electrician who has at least two years of experience working as a commercial apprentice. You must have these qualifications to be considered for this position. JOB SUMMARY: Execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform tasks as provided by the project superintendent, project foreman and or, lead electrician. Complete assigned tasks in a safe workmanlike manner. Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems. Use hand and power tools. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit/cable tray Pulls wiring through conduit or lays cable in cable tray Assists with Installation of controls and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, hot stick, multi meter and/or oscilloscope Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement Assist in the repairing of faulty equipment or systems using hand tools, hacksaws, pipe threaders, conduit benders, ladders, etc. Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts Disassembles defective electrical equipment such as motors, switch gears and circuit breakers Loads transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies Assists in lifting, positioning and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit cable trays and motors Attend safety training as directed Must comply with all safety and company rules and regulations Employee must be able to travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or other form of public transportation Regular attendance and timeliness, no-shows and tardiness are unacceptable. Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES: Familiar with the Electrical industry standards and codes Prior experience in with assisting the journeymen in installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and supporting structures. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Be able to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND / OR LICENSES: High school diploma or equivalent experience required Must hold an OSHA 10 2 yrs commercial Apprentice Electrician experience within the industry Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
