Commercial Cleaner

Overview:

The Cleaning Technician is responsible to perform general cleaning and maintenance throughout the offices, laboratories, and shared spaces. In this role you will support cleaning initiatives including washing all dishes, pans, metal bottles, glassware, etc.  and performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, and washing walls and glass. The Cleaning Technician helps keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks: 

• Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, walls, etc.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, floors, toilet, mirrors, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
• Replenish supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and/or hand scrub floors.
• Empty trash cans and recyclables into disposal areas.
• Wipe down walls and woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, etc.
• Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and communicate them to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting.
• Perform assigned dish washing duties ensuring proper detergents are being used, dishes are being thoroughly rinsed, then put back in the designated area.

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

• High school diploma/ general education degree (GED).
• 2+ years of commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to read and apply instructions.
• Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, staff, etc.
