Commercial HVAC Technician / Chiller Technician ROP

Job Title: Commercial HVAC Technician / Chiller Technician ROP- $35.00 - $45.00 Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experiencedChiller Technicianto join our maintenance and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of chiller systems, including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. The technician must be able to read blueprints and technical diagrams, perform inspections, and ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with safety regulations. The Chiller Technician will work closely with other HVAC professionals, engineers, and facility maintenance teams to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities and Duties: • Maintain, and repairchiller systems (centrifugal, screw, scroll, absorption, etc.), Boilers, air handlers, pumps and cooling towers. • Perform regular inspectionsand preventative maintenance on chillers, boilers, and related HVAC equipment. • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issuesin chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, and associated systems. • Replace or repair componentssuch as compressors, motors, valves, heat exchangers, and refrigerant lines. • Charge and recover refrigerantsin compliance with environmental and safety standards (EPA regulations). • Calibrate and test system controlsand sensors to ensure optimal operation. • Monitor system performanceand perform adjustments to maximize efficiency. • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Keep accurate service recordsand complete maintenance logs and reports. • Adhere to safety protocolsand company policies to ensure safe working environments. • Respond to emergency repair callsand provide timely resolution. • Ensure compliancewith local HVAC codes and standards. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Technical certification in HVAC or refrigeration • 3+ years of experience in chiller maintenance and repair. • 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC systems. • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required. • Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components. • Ability to use diagnostic tools and HVAC instrumentation. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment. Work Environment: • May involve working in confined spaces, rooftops, or mechanical rooms. • Exposure to hot or cold environments, loud noise, and hazardous substances. • May require on-call availability for emergencies and occasional weekend or night shifts.
