The ideal candidate will be responsible for both existing direct to owner field assessment and new construction projects, preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals. Qualifications: Experience:Minimum of 3 years of construction estimating with primary focus on commercial and industrial roofing. Technical Skills: • Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools. • Ability to read and interpret all types of bid documents, architectural drawings, and project specifications. • Extensive knowledge of all types of roofing systems, product approvals, materials, and installation techniques. • Familiarity with local and Florida building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. • Strong with Microsoft Office software, principally MS Excel. • Analytical Skills:Strong mathematical and analytical abilities to perform accurate cost analyses and material takeoffs. • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members. • Project Management:Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. • Certifications:Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other relevant credentials not required but can be advantageous. Job Responsibilities: • Cost Estimation:Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses. • Site Evaluation:Conduct on-site assessments as needed to evaluate existing roof conditions, gather measurements, and identify potential challenges. • Proposal Development:Develop comprehensive bid proposals and present them to clients, ensuring clarity and alignment with project requirements. • Vendor Coordination:Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards. • Project Documentation:Maintain thorough records of estimates, proposals, contracts, and other project-related documents. • Client Interaction:Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and address any concerns throughout the estimation process. • Team Collaboration:Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive project planning and execution. • Continuous Improvement:Review completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual expenses, analyzing discrepancies to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
