This individual will lead ESG (environmental, social & governance) reporting for the Company and will work to establish, create, and implement the Company’s ESG strategy. The ESG Manager will evolve the company’s ESG reporting in line with regulatory, investor, customer, and other external expectations. This role will also be responsible for developing, analyzing and reporting on critical ESG related metrics and analytics to drive the Company’s ESG agenda. The required reporting will include all aspects of ESG, including measurement and reporting of green house gas emissions as is required by the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. The ESG Manager will also be responsible for compliance with the emerging SEC climate proposal.Â
This position requires extensive collaboration across the organization and will be responsible for pulling together content and data that reflects all parts of the business globally. The role will contribute to building Veeam’s reputation externally, through targeted ratings and rankings, transparent disclosure, and alignment with regulatory and investor-focused reporting frameworks and indices. The ESG Manager will advance the company’s ESG storytelling both internally and externally and build data into storytelling in ways that are meaningful to Veeam and its stakeholders.
This position requires an experienced and detail-oriented sustainability leader who can function independently with diverse stakeholders and manage through influence across levels and functions. This position also requires an individual who has experience managing disparate data and strengthening data controls, and who operates with a consistent awareness of deadlines and results. Experience managing external ESG reporting requirements and knowledge of future requirements, both voluntary and mandatory, is required.
This position will be fully remote and reports directly to the Director of Corporate Compliance. This position will not immediately manage a team but should be prepared to expand and build out an ESG team as the Company’s ESG agenda progresses.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enhance the Company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosure strategy to strengthen its position with leading ESG raters, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Measure and report on ESG related metrics including Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
- Lead the annual ESG Reporting process in collaboration with Communications and in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Manage the engagement of subject matter experts (SMEs) to collect report content, lead the data collection and validation process, and prepare necessary disclosure indices, with the goal of enhancing the sophistication of the report each year.
- Manage, track and update key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to internal targets and public goals and improve the process for collecting disparate ESG data through automation in order to meet the needs of ESG reports, goals, surveys and indices.
- Continually assess the importance of ESG issues in the industry through regular monitoring and benchmarking. Develop and align Veeam’s ESG strategy to stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure Veeam is positioned for and responsive to the growing expectations among internal and external stakeholders for transparent reporting on our ESG initiatives.
- Work across the organization, including at the senior most levels, to proactively prepare Veeam for future regulatory disclosure requirements.
- Consistently monitor the quickly evolving regulatory environment, which includes the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) climate risk disclosure, along with customer, investor, and other market pressures, in order to advise the company from the top down on global best practices with respect to ESG disclosure and business integration. Additionally, monitor and analyze the strategies, policies, programs and disclosures of other Fortune 500 companies, with particular attention to the software industry.
- Educate appropriate internal teams, including Accounting and others, on upcoming regulations and how these regulations may require changes to their processes.
- Lead quantitative climate risk scenario analyses for the organization and partner with the appropriate teams to implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare Veeam’s internal and external ESG communications and reports and advise on content creation and positioning for other external communications.
- Work effectively with the Communications team to advance the company’s reputation with respect to ESG.
- Coordinate communications efforts across multiple internal and external channels, including corporate website, digital platforms, and other communication channels.
- Create visually engaging ESG communications for internal and external audiences, including dashboards, scorecards, infographics, PowerPoints, and reports.
- Evolve ESG content on Veeam’s corporate website on at least an annual basis.
- Assist in responding to RFPs, customer questionnaires, and due diligence questionnaires on ESG-related topics.
- Complete required third-party scoring and surveys regarding ESG
Requirements:Â
- Progressive experience (3+ years) managing an ESG program, ESG reporting or related program or function.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, required; Master’s degree preferred, in sustainability or related topic.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering qualitative and quantitative ESG (environmental, social, governance) reporting. Domestic and international experience preferred but not required.
- In depth technical knowledge and experience in sustainability reporting and with relevant ESG standards, including GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD, CDP, CSRD, CSDDD and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
- Experience managing consistent and accurate data collection, developing data controls, and leveraging IT solutions as applicable.
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret and translate large sets of data into simple insights or reports.
- A sophisticated and deep understanding of today’s key global ESG issues and landscape, and the roles of the private and public sectors both in the U.S. and abroad.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate trends and issues in business and society that affect the company’s ESG agenda and reputation.
- Analytic thinker and ability to problem-solve and balance multiple projects and priorities.
- Proven ability to inspire, collaborate and manage internal relationships and cultivate partnerships across functions and regions.
- Demonstrated experience influencing without formal authority to accomplish company-wide goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and project teams.
- Strong business and financial acumen.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

$107,700—$153,800 USD
