Concrete Form Carpenter

Job Title:Concrete Form Carpenter Overview: The Concrete Form Carpenter is responsible for building, setting, and aligning forms for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and other structural elements. This role involves reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, assembling formwork systems, and ensuring structures meet project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork layout and dimensions. • Construct, assemble, and install wood, metal, and engineered form systems for concrete placement. • Measure, cut, and shape lumber, plywood, and other materials according to project plans. • Set forms for curbs, sidewalks, walls, footings, slabs, and structural concrete. • Install rebar, embeds, anchor bolts, and other fixtures as required. • Check form alignment, elevation, and stability before concrete placement. • Strip, clean, and prepare forms for reuse after concrete has cured. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. • Follow all site safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe work practices. • Work collaboratively with other trades and crew members to ensure efficient workflow. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred). • Minimum2–4 years of experiencein concrete form carpentry or related construction field. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. • Strong understanding of concrete properties and curing processes. • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and plans. • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred. Work Environment: • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to weather conditions. • Requires standing, bending, lifting, and carrying materials for extended periods. • May require overtime, weekend, or travel work depending on project schedule.
