Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedConstruction Accountantto join our growing team. The ideal candidate will haveprior experience in construction accountingand a strong understanding of job cost tracking, AIA billing, and subcontractor/vendor payment processes. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financials across multiple ongoing projects and ensuring compliance with contract and lien requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate coding of construction-related transactions • Performjob costing and budget trackingfor active projects • Prepare and reviewWIP (Work-in-Progress) schedulesand monthly job cost reports • ProcessAIA-style pay applications, including tracking retainage and lien waivers • Reconcile project budgets against actual costs and report variances • Work closely with project managers and estimators to forecast costs and revenue • Managesubcontractor invoicing and compliance(COIs, waivers, NTOs, etc.) • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and assist with month-end close • Assist with financial audits and reporting as needed • Monitor and maintain documentation related to contracts, change orders, and billing schedules Required Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of construction accounting experience(general contractors or subcontractors) • Proficient injob cost accounting principlesandproject-based revenue recognition • Strong working knowledge of AIA billing formats (G702/G703) • Experience with lien waivers, retainage, and subcontractor compliance tracking • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 100/300, or Foundation • Excellent Excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret data • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field and office staff Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, RedTeam, or Buildertrend • Experience preparing WIP reports and collaborating with project management teams on forecasting Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $80,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
