Construction Control Inspector

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

To qualify for the GS-07:Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: (1) assisting in problem resolution and resolving disagreements involving contractor and organization relationships; (2) coordinating construction work with materials personnel; (3) utilizing mathematical computations necessary to compute material quantities and other field computations; (4) gathering field data and facts pertaining to potential claims, delays or change orders.

B. Education: successfully completed one (1) full year of graduate level education in an appropriate field of surveying, engineering, construction, or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, forestry, geography, navigation, cartography, physical science, or mathematics. C. Combination of Experience and Education: successfully completed a combination of education and experience as described above that, when converted to percentages, equal at least 100% of the total requirement. When combining education with experience, first determine your total qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then determine your experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify this grade level. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts as proof of any claimed education. (NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts)

To qualify for the GS-08:Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: (1) conducting inspections of construction projects to ensure contract specifications are followed; (2) interpreting construction plans to ensure adherence to safety requirements; (3) reporting potential problems in construction phases; (4) preparing daily summary reports on progress of construction operations for management review.

B. Education: successfully completed two (2) full year of graduate level education in an appropriate field of surveying, engineering, construction, or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, forestry, geography, navigation, cartography, physical science, or mathematics. C. Combination of Experience and Education: successfully completed a combination of education and experience as described above that, when converted to percentages, equal at least 100% of the total requirement.
