Related non-Federal experience or related experience as retired members of the uniformed services may be credited towards computing entitlement to leave accrual, at managerial discretion, providing that experience meets certain criteria. This position is designated as a LOW RISK position. It requires a fully completed and favorably adjudicated SF85 Background Investigation (T1 or equivalent) that is current (within the last 5 years). This is a condition of employment.

Physical Demands: Work is mostly field work often at construction sites requiring strenuous physical effort such as stooping, lifting, bending, walking, climbing, and conducting inspections in a variety confined or limited spaces such as pipes, tunnels, shafts, etc.

Working Conditions: Field work involves moderate risks associated with a construction site; however, the work does involve high risks of exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions where condition cannot always be controlled. This includes shift work (depending on the contractors schedule), frequent inspection in enclosed spaces such as small to large diameter pipes and tunnels, working at great heights, working in extreme temperatures, etc. In such cases specialized training is provided. Up to 75 percent of the work is performed out of the office. A minor portion is performed in an office setting with adequate accommodations.
