About this Role

Fandom is growing! Our Consumer Insights Associate Manager opportunity can be based remotely in the US and reports directly to our Director of Consumer Insights.

Our Research Team seeks a skilled survey researcher and analyst with occasional work as a generalist in the qualitative domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting user research and delivering actionable insights that inform the design of our products and services, which include a vast network of fan-driven wikis, video and media content brands. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding user needs and behaviors, has experience with a range of research methods and tools primarily including quantitative survey methods, with some qualitative experience, and is excited to work in the dynamic and ever-changing world of Fandom. This role will involve primarily focusing on survey research and analysis while also contributing as a generalist across UXR and consumer insights projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop an understanding of Fandom's target audiences and their needs.

You Will...

  • Execute projects on schedule throughout a research project lifecycle including:
  • Developing sample & quota plan, survey program testing, sample testing, fieldwork launch, fieldwork monitoring, fieldwork close, and timely and accurate analysis and reporting
  • Use a variety of research methods (e.g. surveys, interviews, etc.) to gather quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Analyze research data using statistical techniques such as ANOVA, t-tests, Max-Diff, and KDA, and synthesize key findings into clear and concise reports and presentations that inform product and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. marketing, product & design, content, community management) to integrate research findings on consumer behavior and attitudes into business strategies and decision-making.
  • Advocate for user needs and champion a user-centered approach throughout the organization.
  • Continually stay up-to-date with the latest market research, consumer insights, and UX research methods and trends, and apply this knowledge to improve our research practice.

You Have...

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Market Research, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Social Science, or related research-focused field, or increased years of experience in a related role.
  • 3-5 years of experience as quantitative vendor- or client-side Market Research professional, grounded in established survey methods, sampling, questionnaire writing, and analytical techniques. Additional education may be considered in place of some experience.
  • Expertise in typical market research applications (feature/needs prioritization, segmentation, pricing, advertising effectiveness, early and late stage concept testing, messaging, brand tracking, driver analysis) and common marketing research techniques (surveys, focus groups, field studies, personal interviews)
  • Experience as quantitative vendor- or client-side Market Research professional, grounded in established survey methods, sampling, questionnaire writing, and analytical techniques
  • Experience with Q, SPSS, SAS or similar analytics platform. 
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to create reports, present research findings to diverse audiences, and facilitate discussions around research insights.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Passion for understanding user needs and behaviors, and ability to advocate for user-centered design

Bonus Points...

  • Experience within the digital content space
  • Vendor/Supplier side experience on an MR or UXR team
  • Some familiarity with UX design principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of the Fandom space and its communities
  • Experience programming in Decipher
