Consumer Lending Systems & Modeling Analyst

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Consumer Lending Systems and Modeling Analyst will help modernize the Consumer Lending systems architecture and infrastructure to include developing and maintaining business applications, data models and statistical models. They will be proficient with data modeling techniques and methodologies from creating data dictionaries, data mapping, to database design and data migration scripting through data visualization. They will also be a key driver in turning the Consumer Lending vision to reality by using Artificial Intelligence to automate lending decisions and improve workflows and member experience. They should be proficient with Statistical modeling methods and Machine Learning techniques from model development to model validation and testing through monitoring and maintenance.

This individual will be a critical player on all projects related to Consumer Lending systems and need to be familiar with various operating systems, hardware configurations, programming languages, and software platforms. Communication will be key as this individual should be able to fully articulate and transform business requirements into technical design specification and act as a liaison between various business unit, IT and 3rd party technology partners and vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for working closely with Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture & Data Privacy partners to establish capabilities supporting various initiatives.
  • Setting, installing, testing, and maintaining application software and system management.
  • Evaluate the existing systems or processes and provide the technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Design and build the automation for reports and dashboards using both internal and external data sources
  • Help design and build the approach for proper back-up/restore operations.
  • Lead Consumer Lending through the impending migration to Microsoft Azure.
  • Assist with competitive 3rd party technological or data product evaluations.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to assist with integration management within our Lending Origination System, to ensure that, from a build perspective, we are working efficiently and within parameters.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve technical issues and outages.
  • Provides support for technical issues on Data Governance tools and ensuring system availability.
  • Leverage data analysis techniques to identify trends, predictive indicators, and potential risks to assist lending leadership with decision making.
  • Develop and automate reports and processes.
  • Act as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert in data-related projects.
  • Work closely with the DBA team and other business partners to build and deploy views, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines for the Consumer Lending and other peer departments.
  • Partner with IT Business Intelligence as a data steward to build, maintain and improve application databases and warehouses for the Consumer Lending department.
  • Develop and analyze reporting around quarterly bureau pulls on membership base, including evaluating custom features, to identify and recommend opportunities for penetration within certain markets and product-lines.
  • Develop and enhance REST APIs to provide business lines with a means to efficiently and securely access their data on the network.
  • Leverage front-end charting libraries to build custom web-based BI dashboards.
  • Work with internal business partners to build dedicated application servers to host Consumer Lending data services.
  • Data Wrangling (fetching, cleaning, enriching, transforming and integrating) to include scraping from external sources to automate and develop new reporting pipelines for Senior Lending Management to monitor performance within market segmentations.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into artificial intelligence approaches and objectives.
  • Work with clients and team leads to discover data sources and create data requests; collaborate with data engineers to develop and utilize the ETL process to ingest and enrich structured and unstructured data.
  • Implementing data strategies and developing new data models around forecasting and risk management.
  • Work with IT to implement CI/CD pipelines for more efficient software delivery.
  • Updating and optimizing existing AI models, both internally and through partnership with 3rd party vendor(s).
  • Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency, to include both existing 3rd party AI models and future implemented models

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in IT, MIS, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the data warehouse, OLAP (Online Analytical Processing)
  • 4+ years of programming experience preferably OOP languages (Python, Julia, Java, C#, Visual Basic)
  • 4+ Experience architecting and building ETL pipelines; Hands-on experience with SQL
  • Strong experience and knowledge of SQL Server and it's ecosystem (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS and SSAS)
  • Strong experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) and other visualization and reporting tools (Plotly, etc.)
  • Strong experience utilizing JSON, XML, YAML, TOML, CSV and other data-interchange and configuration file formats.
  • Strong experience with web scraping
  • Strong experience designing, developing and deploying web-based applications.
  • Strong experience utilizing Microsoft IIS, Windows Server 2016, & Microsoft Azure
  • Strong experience utilizing Python servers and frameworks such as flask, quart, fastAPI, starlette, requests, pydantic, sqlalchemy, pyodbc, aioodbc, pandas, matplotlib and numpy.
  • Extensive experience utilizing, writing, and working with asynchronous code and async frameworks.
  • Front-end development experience (js, react, vue, etc)
  • Experience with containerization like Docker and Kubernetes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with statistical modeling methods and techniques, ML models (Regression model, classification model, etc.), and statistical programming languages like R
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and it's principles.
  • Ability to convey highly technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

CERTIFICATIONS

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
