The Role
As Highlight continues to supercharge its business, Marketing is taking even more of a front seat to build and nurture a trustworthy, enticing brand in addition to driving Sales impact. We have incorporated content marketing since our founding but are ready to double down on a true content marketing strategy and increase the quality and quantity of output. As the first in-home usage testing platform of its kind, Highlight has the opportunity to drive thought leadership in the space : we bring an innovative approach to an old-school industry, and are excited to bring a creative lens to impact-driving content marketing–experimenting to find what really resonates and moves the needle v. “running the play” of a standard framework.This candidate will be joining a lean but passionate team, and will own execution of content on all owned platforms. It is currently an individual contributor role with the opportunity to manage agency and freelance relationships.
Responsibilities
- Craft unique content to demonstrate Highlight’s thought leadership, market vision, and category expertise and test new content formats
- Generate ideas and write high-quality, thought-provoking content in various formats: videos, webinars, e-books, blog posts, SEO articles, Linkedin posts and more
- Drive consistent traffic and engagement that translates to sales pipeline, increased brand awareness, and strong brand equity
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar
- Shape Highlight’s tone of voice and company narrative across digital platforms
- Become an expert in our value props, brand voice, messaging, and audience personas
- Continually test, measure, and optimize content initiatives to solidify an equity and inbound-driving content strategy with consistently strong engagement
- Interact with graphic designers and internal team members to create and review all content & ensure consistent messaging
- Work with Analytics, Go To Market, Product teams to ensure that messaging and measurement are in alignment with the positioning of Highlight’s offerings
- Update old content to maintain optimization
About You
- 5-7 years of experience creating, measuring, and managing content and associated strategy
- Experience shaping and executing a B2B brand’s social media strategy, either in-house or at an agency
- Work in CPG and/or insights is ideal but not required
- Proven ability to write to business leaders in a human way–attract and engage key audiences authentically
- Excellent writing and editing skills and a proven track record of driving results through content
- Proficiency in: Google Analytics, Hubspot, Linkedin Campaign Manager, Canva
- Deep understanding of SEO and web analytics with experience implementing, measuring, and adapting to optimize
- Understanding of and ability to navigate web publishing requirements
- Editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences and curiosity about industry trends
- Ability to manage multiple projects and juggle priorities
- Clear, effective communicator—verbally and in writing—with the ability to be persuasive
- Balance of attention to detail and agility: strategic thinking balanced by creative problem solving
- Strong organization and project planning skills, including planning, development, and implementation
