Who we are

Starface reinvented the way we care for acne-prone skin, as the first skincare brand to combine efficacy and optimism. We help turn a historically negative situation into a moment of self-expression and show up where young people are in authentic ways that other brands simply cannot. Starface’s brand is delivered in large part through the lens of our animated character Big Yellow via our company Instagram & TikTok.

We’d like to expand the Big Yellow universe by creating extended content play around him that can live beyond our core company social media accounts. The idea is to engage & grow the Starface community by documenting Big Yellow + friends as they live through various relatable coming of age tales in real time with his younger audience. We ultimately want to show up in places where our addressable audience is spending their leisure time. We’d like to start by experimenting with personality-driven, social-native content.

Your Impact at Starface  

The writer will be responsible for developing content across platforms such as TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram in order to: 

• Expand our digital presence
• Create a library of organic and brand-first content that drives engagement within our community 
• Tell our compelling brand story in a valuable and culturally relevant way

They will collaborate with the rest of the brand team and content creators to ensure the brand stays true to its core values while still generating excitement and relevance across all social channels. 

We will count on you to:

• Develop and produce attention grabbing content that brings value to our youthful and unique community. 
• Collaborate with the Brand Team to ensure we are always on top of hitting cultural trends that drive engagement and promote viral moments 
• Digest creative briefs and develop content ideas further 
• Push the brand forward by presenting new ideas for how Starface can show up in the ever evolving social space, not only responding to trends but starting them
• Stay up to date on trends that may inspire new ideas for video content. 
• Deliver content against all calendar deadlines

Who we are looking for 

• Required experience and competencies  

• Natural storyteller and understands character development

• Witty, funny and have your pulse on culture 

• Strong understanding of the digital space and what content will perform best within each platform 
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines
• Enjoys working independently as well as collaborating with others to strategize and meet goals and objectives for each project
• Has a “no task to small” attitude
