LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Clif Bar Plant.
Mission: To develop and execute prioritized projects in collaboration with all bakery functional areas (Operations, FSQA, Maintenance, Sanitation and Warehouse) to improve the business processes and productivity metrics. Will actively coach team members in developing knowledge in appropriate use of Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) tools and will use data analytic tools to identify top losses and work to build team capability around loss identification and elimination. The ideal candidate will enjoy using data to identify improvement ideas and implement changes both individually and as part of a team.
Will lead, coach, and direct activities of the Indianapolis, IN Bakery leaders and other resources as needed. High levels of interaction, engagement, coaching, and leadership of teams under their direction is required.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Identify and execute CI projects to resolve and/or mitigate operational issues and improve bakery performance.
- As part of project execution, develop standard work processes and audit procedures to sustain improvements.
- Engage floor personnel in making current operations better by utilizing IL6S (CI) tools.
- Involved in lead change control review process: ensure individual change owners are meeting timelines.
- Understands the Bakery Compelling Business Need and Zero Loss Journey. Works with the management team to prioritize where CI efforts should be placed to aid the business based on loss analysis.
- Manage an accurate list of productivity projects at the site, lead bi-monthly meetings to track progress, and communicate outcomes.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
- Daily data entry validation: Capturing material consumption/usage in Mixing; Clean B&R, meal, and scrap produced in various waste points, overpack and machine hours, etc.
What You Bring:
- Agility over Perfection.
- Deep experience in food manufacturing environment with food production.
- Experience leading projects in a metrics-driven continuous improvement system
- Demonstrated abilities in engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance in a CPG environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of OSHA, FDA, HAACP, AIB and SQF regulations.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS Outlook calendar and email management.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools including DMAIC, 5S, Value Steam Mapping, Visual Management, Root Cause/Corrective Action (Pareto, Fishbone, 5 Why Analysis), SMED, TPM.
- Demonstrated ability to explain, use, and understand complicated concepts and processes.
- BS in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field - or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Pay Range: $91,000 - $113,750 / yr.
