Job Description
Responsibilities
Contractor Responsibilities:
• Performs licensed pharmacist services for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas Family Planning and Preventative Health Services(referred to as PPGT FAMILY PLANNING).
• Ensures PPGT FAMILY PLANNING complies with all applicable standards of pharmacy protocols and pharmacy practice under allapplicable law, as applicable to PPGT FAMILY PLANNING’s Class D pharmacy.
• Consults on the drugs and devices procured by the health center.
• Devises and implements procurement and storage requirements for all pharmaceuticals in consultation with the Lead Pharmacist.
• Maintains records of all pharmacy transactions as required by all applicable laws, and as necessary to ensure accurate control over andaccountability for all drugs and devices.
• Checks and releases all pharmaceuticals and labeling logs from quarantine for provision to patients; destroys or returns all drugs anddevices which expire or are returned to the pharmacy by patients after provision and document destructions/returns accordingly.
• Audits the health center’s compliance with all policies and procedures related to pharmaceutical services, and records same in on-siterecords.
• Consults with staff regarding actions, contraindications, adverse reactions, and pharmacology of drugs contained in the formulary.
• Audits PPGT FAMILY PLANNING’s pharmacy services to ensure compliance with all PPGT policies and applicable laws and regulations.
• Serves as a resource for affiliate clinicians pertaining to provision of pharmaceuticals.
• Executes HIPAA Business Associate Agreement.
• Has unrestricted access to patient protected health information (PHI) on paper and electronic forms health records for purposes oftreatment, payment, and/or healthcare operations. The use of a patient’s protected health information should be limited to information
needed for the specific task that is being performed or requested by the individual patient. Disclosure of any patient information must be
for purposes of treatment, payment or healthcare operation OR must be accompanied by a valid patient authorization. Must adhere to
minimum necessary rule

• Must be able to travel as needed.

Qualifications
Possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent.
1 year of licensed pharmacist experience desired.
Possess a valid and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary additional certifications in accordance with state, federal and PPFA compliance requirements.

Must have excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet. Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change including advances or new technology.
