Summary
This position is assigned to the Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) Acquisitions Branch (N945); Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Millington, TN. Incumbent Serves as a Headquarters (HQ) Contract Specialist providing procurement and procurement-related support to CNIC HQ and FFR activities; Fleet and Family Support Centers; and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

Conditions of Employment

- Must will willing to relocate to reside within a 50-mile radius of Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid-South, Millington, TN.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate possesses at least one of the following the:
- A Ph. D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
- At least 3 years of specialized experience and demonstrated job performance in a contracting position.
- An equivalent combination of education and specialized experience.
- Knowledge of NAF and appropriated fund procurement operations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge and application of Federal statutes, Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and CNIC procurement/contracting regulations as well as various industry practices, publications, and trends.
- Knowledge and application of automated accounting systems and on-line computer programs.
- Experience and Skill in the use of a computer including automated systems (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, spreadsheets, databases, etc.).
- Experience and Skill in analyzing/evaluating records, reports, regulations, and other relevant materials pertaining to procurement/contracting, and in preparing reports.
- Experience and Skill in conducting subject matter related training.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Education
In addition to the qualifications required for this position, candidates must also possess one of the following:
- A 4-year course study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field.
- At least 24-semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
