Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Controller to join our executive leadership team. This role requires a strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves. The ideal candidate is a proactive financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment and can wear many hats. As Controller, you will be responsible for all financial functions of the company, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, business intelligence, and ad hoc analysis. You will also oversee IT, HR, recruiting, and accounting operations. This position includes leadership of all office and administrative staff, including the Dispatch team. You will play a critical role in supporting sustainable growth and operational excellence across the business. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all financial planning, reporting, and forecasting activities • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports • Develop and oversee business intelligence tools to support decision-making • Lead the budgeting and cost control process across all departments • Supervise and mentor staff in accounting, HR, Recruiting, IT, recruiting, administration, and Dispatch • Manage payroll, personnel files, and benefits administration • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies • Partner with ownership and operations leadership on strategic initiatives • Evaluate financial and operational systems for improvement opportunities Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA a plus) • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles • Experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, or related service industries preferred • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, including back-office operations • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude – no task too big or small What We Offer • Competitive salary: $130,000 – $150,000 per year • Leadership opportunity with a growing, respected local company • Collaborative and team-oriented workplace culture • Full benefits package (details provided during the interview process) How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you’re the right fit for Puget Sound Plumbing and Heating.
