Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in retail accounting, with a deep understanding of financial management principles. This role requires expertise in various accounting practices, regulatory reporting, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights to support organizational goals. Duties • Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. • Ensure compliance with GAAP while preparing accurate financial statements and reports. • Oversee cash management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records. • Prepare payroll tax compliance reports and ensure timely submission to relevant authorities. • Collaborate with external CPA during annual tax preparation and provide necessary documentation for review. • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Utilize accounting software for efficient financial management and reporting. • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and financial concepts. • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. • Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on retail entities. • Strong knowledge of cash management principles, budgeting techniques, and financial report writing. • Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation processes. • Familiarity with financial software tools and advanced Excel skills for data analysis. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information effectively. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Exceptional communication skills for collaboration across departments and presenting findings to stakeholders.
