Controller

Controller A growing commercial real estate investment firm with a 50 year legacy is looking to bring on a Controller to their team. The ideal candidate brings a CPA, public accounting and tax experience, and exposure to commercial real estate. This position will oversee one accountant and work with 60+ entities. Location: San Diego, CA 92131 Salary Target: $140k -$175K Direct Hire, Full Time Responsibilities: · Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. · Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. · Work with tax professionals. · Manage and own the company payroll processing · Prepare documents and schedules for internal audits as required. · Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. · Support month-end and year-end soft-close process. · Prepare tax preparation packages for external CPAs. · Develop and document business processes, accounting policies, and maintain their internal controls. · Managing financial risk through the continued refinement and implementation of internal controls in line with best practices. Qualifications: · A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. · CPA strongly preferred · Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting leadership role · Proficiency in Yard and QuickBooks i is preferred · Commercial real estate experience · Proven experience working with tax preparation packages and payroll systems.
