We are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring smooth month-end and year-end close processes. This position is fully on-site at our Northbrook office, as we value in-person collaboration and teamwork. Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and overseeing the daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closings. This role ensures that all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a small-business environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential. Key Responsibilities: • Perform and reviewdaily, monthly, and annual reconciliationsof all balance sheet and key operating accounts. • Manage themonth-end and year-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. • Maintain thegeneral ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and supported. • Prepare and analyzefinancial statements(balance sheet, income statement, cash flow). • Investigate and explainmonthly variancesand provide insight to management. • Assist withannual audits and tax preparation, providing schedules and documentation as needed. • Supportaccounts payable, accounts receivable, and payrollfunctions as required. • Maintain and update documentation ofaccounting procedures and controls. • Identify and implementprocess improvementsto enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required). · 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and reconciliations. · Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. · Proficiency with accounting/ ERP software (e.g., Epicor, Infor SX.e/CSD, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Excel skills. · Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. · Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a small business setting. · Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
