We are growing and adding positions to our team! The job duties for the position ofControllerare listed below. Summary:The Controller is responsible for the daily activities associated with completion of financial statements and preparation of financial reporting package for the CFO. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential duties. · Build out, scale, and oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions; supervise company finance staff. AP, Payroll etc. · Review and ensure all month-end closing activities are completed quickly including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and cash reconciliations. · Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. · Supervision of Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. · Analyzes revenues and expenses and resolves discrepancies, as necessary. · Prepares and distributes monthly financial statements, reviews narratives provided, work with department heads as needed and respond to Senior Management inquiries. · Monitor weekly cash management and payables and ensure efficient, meticulously accurate and timely processing of. · Manage preparations and support of all external financial audits/accounting/cost report projects. · Maintains internal controls relative to financial operations to ensure overall compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures. · Participates in annual expense and revenue budget process, including communication with department heads to understand drivers of business units. · Support implementation and enhancement of financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems for scale of a growing organization. Assure system efficiency. · Remain up to date on accounting best practices and state and federal law regarding accounting operations. Minimum Required Qualifications: · Master Degree in Accounting or Finance · CPA Certification, preferred · Public accounting experience preferred. · Five or more years of experience in an accounting management role Hybrid work environment but will be primarily remote for first year with 10-15% travel as needed. OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: · Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to including working knowledge of Pivot Tables, V Lookups, and graphing and charting · Knowledge of standard accounting procedures · Ability to work independently and be an active member of a team · Ability to think critically and solve complex problems · Strong oral and written communication skills · Strong organizational and time management skills · Strong sense of urgency · Customer service orientation · Supervisory or coaching and mentoring experience, preferred Essential Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
