Position Title: Coordinator, Custodial Services
Level of Employment: Administrator
Location: District-Wide
Employment Classification: Full Time - Exempt
Reports to: Director, Facilities
SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Custodial Services provides direct on-site supervision, coordination, and direction to all custodial department members. Determines the priorities of daily work assignments and directs staff to various repair projects and tasks. The coordinator provides supervisory and administrative functions for custodial services for all district buildings. Responsible for the overall management of these activities, day-to-day work assignments, review, and technical assistance. The Coordinator of Custodial Services is responsible for the supervision of all custodials inlcuding those who work the second shift. As such, the Coordinator's work schedule will include at least two to three days a week of on-site supervision of the second shift staff members.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
College degree preferred or equivalent of graduation from high school or possession of a GED certification and four years of experience in performing a wide range of building and/or landscape construction, maintenance, and repair, which has included at least one year of providing direct supervision to subordinate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of Principles and practices of implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for a school district.
2. Knowledge of Principles, practices, techniques, materials, and tools used in the construction, maintenance and repair and rehabilitation of building, grounds and related facilities and equipment.
3. Principles and practices related to the performance of skilled work in one or more various crafts involved with the maintenance and repair of multi-tenant residential facilities.
4. Techniques for estimating staff, materials and equipment required to accomplish construction, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation activities in a residential facility.
5. Principles and practices related to the performance of routine to semi-skilled work in multiple crafts involved with the maintenance and repair of multi-tenant residential facilities and grounds.
6. Basic principles of construction contract administration in a public agency setting.
