Our next Copywriter will have a desire and proven experience balancing curiosity and innovation within client campaign work that honors both client and agency legacy. Essential Functions/Principal Accountabilities of the Job:Â
Day-to-day Copywriter responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):Â
- Deliver ideas, copy, and creative executions of the highest quality for a wide variety of clients, new business pitches, and internal projectsÂ
- Own concepting, presenting, and selling through of creative for both internal and external audiencesÂ
- Craft compelling, thought-provoking copy in a variety of tones and voices across all channels, including (but not limited to) video, digital, social, experiential, and print in collaboration with art directors and designersÂ
- Apply feedback from ACDs, CDs, and clients to copy and creative executionsÂ
- Develop a strong understanding of assigned client(s) business with guidance from your Creative Director, Account Management, and Brand Planning teams. Â
- Coordinate production work through the relevant departments; working effectively with outside suppliers and guiding the selection of directors, photographers, typography, cast, voice talent, sound design and music as requireÂ
- Communicate and collaborate daily with creatives, account management, brand planning, project management, social strategy, and Director of Creative Operations to ensure project successÂ
- Actively ideates and pitches integrated campaign ideas for designated client(s) to Creative DirectorsÂ
- Supports ACDs and CDs with various projects and mentors junior creatives to create smart and surprising creative solutions to solve our client’s marketing challengesÂ
- Actively participates in the ad community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events, and referring your best and the brightest creative peers to the agencyÂ
- Actively participates in and contributes to Carmichael Lynch’s culture by attending company-wide events, jumping at opportunities to celebrate your colleagues, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, all-in attitudeÂ
Note: These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and are the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDÂ
Working Relationships, Autonomy, and Supervision:Â
The Copywriter must interact with and effectively collaborate with all personnel of Carmichael Lynch in the Philadelphia and Minneapolis offices. For this role, you will regularly work with the following teams: creative, project management, account management, social strategy, PR, brand planning, production, studio, and content lab. Â
Management/project oversight comes from: Associate Creative Director (Supervisor) and Creative DirectorsÂ
Assigned projects come from: Director of Creative OperationsÂ
Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:Â
- Education:Â
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in advertising, journalism or a closely-related field. A certificate in copywriting from an advertising/creative portfolio program is a bonus but not mandatoryÂ
- Skills and Experience:Â
- A minimum of 3-4 years experience and a portfolio that demands attentionÂ
- Strong leadership abilities with a desire to mentor junior creativesÂ
- Affinity towards culture and trendsÂ
- Ability to take feedback and emerge with thoughtful creative solutionsÂ
- Associated with highly awarded creative output is a bonus but not mandatoryÂ
