About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire an Assistant Vice President, Corporate Expense Controller. This role will involve accounting and reporting on the company’s expenses and will include responsibilities for month-end close processes, accounts payable, finance operations, balance sheet control and ongoing ad hoc projects. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities
  • Expense Management and Reporting:
    • Assist the Corporate Controller with maintenance of all financial records and accounting files including the continuous improvement of existing workpapers.
    • Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly including accrued liabilities, prepaids, and various non-cash amortization and depreciation entries. Oversee cash reconciliations and review of cash inflows and outflows between the company’s bank accounts and general ledger.
    • Assist in managing the company’s operating expense base, liaising with FP&A and department heads for expense reporting and tracking of budget versus actuals to forecasts and provide month over month variance analysis.
    • Assist in overseeing overall invoicing and AP processes in the firm’s strategic A/P software (Coupa) and ensure smooth processing of payments end-to-end on a weekly basis.
    • Review consolidated financials to determine journal entries for operating and non-operating expenses and accruals for various legal entities. Prepare analysis related to company profit and loss statements and changes in accounts.
  • Other Projects:
    • Identify and remediate process gaps and implementing effective internal controls; improve documentation of internal control processes.
    • Assist with completing special projects as needed such as system implementation of new invoicing and vendor software and financial planning and analysis tools.
    • Take on new, challenging assignments on a spontaneous basis.
    • Coordinate across multiple departments to complete assignments that require collaboration, including providing financial data for any forms or filings needed to be completed organization wide.
Qualifications
  • 6-10 years of corporate accounting/audit experience within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of GAAP reporting
  • Familiar with Oracle NetSuite and/or General Ledger systems (i.e., PeopleSoft, Axiom) preferred
  • Experience with Coupa or similar A/P system preferred
  • Knowledge of booking journal entries
  • Fund accounting experience preferred
  • Degree in Accounting
  • CPA license (achieved or actively pursuing) preferred but not required
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to manage large sets of data and implement checks and balances
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detailed-oriented with big picture capability
Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $135,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
