Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Corporate Sushi / Back of the House Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive back of the house experience in Asian cuisines, specifically Japanese (sushi and hot foods), Vietnamese (soups and appetizers), cooking techniques with Asian kitchen equipment (woks, grills, etc.), and will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff. This role requires passion and creativity for the culinary arts. It commits to food safety standards, ensuring that all employees are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their positions.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on dietary aide responsibilities, menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
• Conduct engaging training sessions that cover essential topics such as food handling, meal preparation, catering services, and restaurant best practices.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve program content and delivery.
• Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop tailored programs that address specific skill gaps within the team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in culinary arts, food safety regulations, and kitchen operations to ensure training content is relevant and effective.
• Provide hands-on training in knife skills and other essential culinary techniques to enhance staff proficiency in food preparation.
Requirements
• Proven experience in the food industry with a strong background in dietary department functions or as a dietary aide.
• Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, cooking, meal preparation, and food service operations.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential.
• Previous experience in a training or instructional role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of individuals.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure effective program delivery.
• A passion for teaching others about culinary arts and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
