Cost Accountant Job Description

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance department. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to: rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing. 
**This position is fully on-site at Empirical System's Aerospace in San Luis Obispo, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Proposal Review
• Inventory adjustments and transfers and billing

• Invoicing capitalized labor
• Cost accounting to include manufacturing costing and job costing
• Monthly journal entries 
• Reconciliations of item fulfilments/inventory/end of project material transfers
• Liaise with operations and project management functions for accurate tracking of inventory and assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
• Ensure accurate reporting of inventory balances on the general ledger and the trial balance
• Support PM's/PA's/Project Accountant

• Logistics support 
• Project Set-ups 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 2+ Years Accounting Experience in Manufacturing Environment
• Experience with ERP
• BS in Accounting or Finance required 
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills 
• Extreme attention to detail 

• Understanding of business accounting principles as well as basic auditing principles in relation to inventory balances
• Understanding of basic contracting principles (government and commercial) 
• Familiarity with DCAA compliance a plus
