Cost Accountant - DoD/Manufacturing

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant with HeavyManufacturing/DoD experienceto join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in cost management and financial analysis. This role is crucial for providing accurate financial data to support decision-making processes within the organization. The Cost Accountant will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with GAAP and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. Only Local applicants will be considered. Applicants MUST be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Position requires aminimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accountingor related discipline coupled with aminimum of 7-10 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturingenvironment. Experience with Manufacturing Cost Accounting Systems, Gross Margin Product Line Reporting, Job Cost Estimates at/(to) completion. Requires the ability to read a multi level Bill of Material and perform standard cost rollups as well as conduct cost analysis and contract gross margin reviews. Must have experience conductingannual physical inventories including inventory cost valuation, reconciliation to financial data, experience with excess and obsolete inventory reviews and analysis of contract performance with recommended reserve requirements. Experience supporting governmental and financial external audits Prior experience implementing manufacturing cost systems is highly desirable. Must have good communication experience and work well with functions outside of accounting & finance. Government contracting and CAS/FAR experience is a plus. Experience working with Propricer, or Eci M1 ERP system a plus. Must be have strong command of Excel. Experience should include pivot tables, look up tables and spreadsheet modeling.
