Cost Accountant

Are you a detail-driven Cost Accountant with construction industry experience? We’re looking for a motivated accounting professional to join a dynamic and growing construction company in South Houston . Cost Accountant Responsibilities: Track, analyze, and report on job costs for multiple construction projects Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets vs. actuals and identify cost variances Prepare detailed project cost reports, WIP schedules , and forecasts Reconcile costs across GL, sub-ledgers, and project systems Assist with month-end close , cost allocations, and construction-specific accounting entries Support change order reviews, subcontractor billings, and material cost tracking Help improve cost processes, reporting accuracy, and financial insight Cost Accountant Requirements: 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience in the construction industry Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field Proficiency with Sage 300 Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Clear communication and a collaborative mindset Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
