Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Creative Director to assist the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) with integrated strategic planning support. The Creative Director oversees the creative vision for all project-related communications, ensuring that design and messaging are consistent, compelling and aligns with CBP OFO strategic objectives. This is an outstanding opportunity to support CBP OFO’s mission to secure the border while facilitating lawful trade and travel that supports our national economy.
This is a hybrid position with onsite in the Washington, D.C. Capital Region. Â
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative vision and strategy for all project-related marketing, communication, and design efforts, ensuring they are innovative, compelling, and aligned with CBP OFO’s mission and strategic goals.
- Oversee creative teams, including designers, copywriters, and external vendors, to produce cohesive, high-quality content that resonates across platforms and stakeholder audiences.
- Collaborate closely with the Strategic Communications Lead to ensure seamless integration of creative assets into the overall communication strategy, contributing to the successful engagement of international stakeholders.
- Translate complex policy, trade, and travel processes into engaging creative outputs that support key initiatives like Global Entry and Non-Intrusive Inspection programs.
- Review and approve all creative content, ensuring consistency, adherence to brand standards, and alignment with CBP OFO’s goals and message.
- Adapt and innovate in response to new challenges and opportunities within the scope of the strategic plan, enhancing CBP’s communication capabilities in response to evolving industry and government needs.
Key Objectives:
- Enhance collaboration and communications with international stakeholders, ensuring CBP’s mission and process changes are clearly articulated to foreign governments and the global trade community.
- Support global messaging efforts related to CBP’s critical programs, ensuring a consistent and engaging narrative that addresses international audiences.
- Strengthen CBP’s strategic communication approach, ensuring all creative outputs are impactful, aligned with OFO’s long-term strategy, and tailored to specific mission capability gaps.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain CBP Suitability
- Bachelor's DegreeÂ
- 3 years of relevant experienceÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- CBP suitability within the last 36 monthsÂ
- Experience working on government or international projects focusing on strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
