About the Role

We're seeking a detail-driven and service-minded  Hospitality Custodial Trainer to guide and coach our housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and luxury service across hotels, resorts, and event venues.
As a Custodial Trainer, you’ll lead with humility, empower staff with knowledge, and embody our brand’s commitment to excellence—one room, one guest, and one moment at a time.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Instructional Expertise
• Develop and deliver hands-on training aligned with luxury brand cleanliness and guest service standards.
• Teach room turnover, spa and event space presentation, and public area upkeep.
• Provide multilingual support and clear instruction for a diverse team of hospitality professionals.
Technical Knowledge & Application
• Instruct on guest room protocols including turndown service, and detailing.
• Train in care for delicate materials like marble, wood, and high-end fabrics.
• Promote eco-conscious practices in line with brand and guest expectations.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce OSHA compliance and hotel-specific safety practices.
• Teach proper handling of lost & found, valuables, and chemical agents.
• Train on bodily fluid cleanup and biohazard protocols per hospitality health standards.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
• Guide staff in professional, discreet guest interactions and “invisible service” etiquette.
• Promote smooth coordination with Front Desk, Concierge, and Maintenance.
• Reinforce empathy and respect for all guests, including families, VIPs, and international travelers.
Leadership & Coaching
• Provide on-the-floor coaching in real time to new and existing staff.
• Model brand values and instill guest-first mentalities.
• Inspire pride and professionalism, especially during high-pressure situations.
Organization & Time Management
• Train staff in efficient, detail-focused room turnover—even during full occupancy.
• Prepare teams for inspections and ensure consistent readiness.
• Equip staff for event surges like weddings, conventions, or VIP arrivals.
Technology & Tools
• Train on mobile housekeeping systems (e.g., HotSOS, Opera PMS) and digital checklists.
• Educate on the proper care of hotel-specific tools (vacuums, extractors, scrubbers).
• Use tech to streamline onboarding, performance tracking, and quality checks.
Customer Service & Brand Standards
• Reinforce 15/5 hospitality rules—smile within 15 feet, greet within 5.
• Teach tactful escalation procedures for guest complaints.
• Emphasize the importance of polished uniforms, clean carts, and well-kept supply areas.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
• Lead training on self-audits and room scoring.
• Incorporate supervisor and guest feedback into training updates.
• Stay ahead of brand updates and evolve training accordingly (e.g., pandemic-era protocols).
Who You Are
• 3+ years in housekeeping or hospitality training roles
• Deep understanding of luxury service environments and guest expectations
• Strong bilingual or multilingual communication skills preferred (e.g., Spanish)
• Tech-savvy with PMS systems, apps, and inspection tools
• Positive, humble leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-first setting
