Custodial/ Janitor Worker

Who We Are: St. Nicks Alliance, a North Brooklyn based community organization, seeks to transform lives of low- and moderate-income people through employment, education, housing, elder care and social services. We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Custodial/Janitor Worker for Monday thru Friday from 2pm to 6pm, at our Sumner Community Center at 862 Park Ave. Brooklyn, NY. What You’ll Do: The St. Nicks Alliance Part-Time Custodial/Janitor position supports Sumner Community Center by working efficiently and effectively on functions and operations that help support staff to serve clients and the public. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: ● Clean all classrooms, hallways, restrooms, staff lounge, offices, stairways and windows. ● Dust all furniture and equipment on a regular basis. ● Wash, clean, all walls, ceilings, wood furniture, windows, air vents, and doors. ● Empty wastebaskets and takeout trash adhering to department of sanitation’s rules on a daily basis or schedule. ● Replenish restroom supplies and other dispensers. ● Clean and prepare Kitchen/cafeteria for the use by staff and other organizations. ● Clear snow from entrances and sidewalks as needed. ● Pick up and deliver supplies and materials to classrooms, the kitchen and offices.
